Jessie L. Bender, DO is a native of Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology at Juniata College, which is considered one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country. She studied medicine at Lake Eire College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the nationally respected Reading Hospital and Medical Center, now known as Tower Health. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG).
Dr. Bender’s areas of interests are minimally invasive and robotic surgery, treatment for urinary incontinence and infertility. During her residency, she pursued additional training on the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, and she was mentored by a urogynecologist becoming well versed in the treatments for female incontinence. Dr. Bender performs robotic surgery at Piedmont Walton Hospital.
Dr. Bender is an Adjunct Faculty member of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership helping train future physicians. She also mentors and instructs advanced practice nursing students, nurse practitioner and midwifery students.
Dr. Bender is a founding board member of the Newton Pregnancy Resource Center and now serves as its medical director. She enjoys participating in local charitable events and supporting our community Arts Association.
Although she was a snowboarding instructor during her college years, Dr. Bender is grateful for the warmer weather in Georgia. She relocated to Covington in 2014 when she joined Covington Women’s Health Specialists. She lives in Covington with her husband and daughter. An avid pet lover, she has two dogs and two cats. She enjoys riding her Peloton bike, meditating, and walking in our town’s beautiful square with her daughter.
