Having Your Baby At…

Piedmont Newton Hospital Labor and Delivery is dedicated to making the entire birth process special and memorable for your family, including our series of educational classes created for parents-to-be and the comfort of our private labor and delivery suites. The Labor and Delivery unit is designed to make childbirth a beautiful experience for the entire family. Our private suites are equipped with the latest in medical technology and all the comforts of home. To make your experience uniquely yours, we offer the following options:

  1. Dad or other support persons can be by your side during delivery.
  2. Overnight accommodations are available in-suite for Dad.
  3. Standard rooming-in for baby.
  4. Our staff of attentive nurses will provide you with helpful advice on caring for your new baby, including feeding, bathing, and when to call the doctor.
  5. Our Lactation Center is available for mothers who desire to breastfeed.

Level III NICU Care Available

While most babies are born healthy, some may arrive early or need extra medical attention after birth. Our patients deliver at Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington, where they offer a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This means the facility is equipped to provide one of the highest levels of specialized care for newborns who are critically ill or born before 32 weeks.

The Level III NICU offers advanced life support, comprehensive respiratory care, and specialized imaging. A skilled team, including neonatologists, registered nurses, and respiratory therapists, is available to provide round-the-clock care, ensuring the best possible start for your baby when additional support is needed.

Midwifery

The midwives of Covington Women’s Health Specialists, LLC are accepting new patients now. For your special delivery they are available to meet all of your needs before you conceive, during your pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. Our practice’s midwives, along with Dr. Meredith Delp, Dr. Meridith Farrow, Dr. Cathy T. Larrimore, and Dr. Sherley Samuels, deliver exclusively at Piedmont Newton Hospital. Bringing new additions into your family is their specialty. The word, “midwife” means “with woman;” Our midwives consider themselves your partner in your healthcare. Listening to you and communicating with you are what they do best.
