Cathy T. Larrimore, MD has dedicated her life to service. She was born in Illinois, but moved to Georgia with her family as a child. She earned her undergraduate degree with highest honor in Chemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She received a scholarship to study medicine from the United States Navy and earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. After an internship, she served for four years as a General Medical Officer at the Parris Island Marine Corps Training Depot in South Carolina.
Dr. Larrimore completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology while serving in the Navy at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth Virginia where she remained for three additional years as a faculty member. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG).
Dr. Larrimore founded Covington Women’s Health Specialists in 2004 when the practice was known as Cathy T. Larrimore, MD and Associates. The practice has grown with the community we serve.
Her areas of interests are minimally invasive surgery, treatment of fibroids, menopausal medicine, and infertility. She is pursuing additional training on the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.
Dr. Larrimore is an Adjunct Faculty member of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership helping train future physicians. She also mentors and instructs advanced practice nursing students, nurse practitioner and midwifery students.
Living in Covington with her family has allowed her to have many pets such as horses, goats, cows, dogs, and cats. She enjoys growing and propagating trees, flowers, and shrubs. Dr. Larrimore also enjoys participating in local charitable events and supporting our community Arts Association.
