Margery “DeeDee” Carr, CNM

Margery “DeeDee” Carr is a Certified Nurse Midwife with more than 20 years of experience in women’s health and maternity care. She provides full-scope midwifery services, including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care, and has extensive experience caring for both low- and high-risk pregnancies in close collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.

DeeDee’s clinical approach emphasizes safety, evidence-based practice, and individualized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals. Known for her compassionate, patient-centered style, she prioritizes building trusting relationships and supporting women and families through every stage of life—from adolescence through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. She believes in shared decision-making and empowering patients through education, advocacy, and respectful care.

DeeDee began her nursing education at Clayton State College, earning her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1994 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Midwifery from Philadelphia University. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and remains committed to lifelong learning and excellence in midwifery practice.

Outside of her clinical work, DeeDee enjoys performing on the theatre stage throughout the Atlanta area. She is married to her husband, Dave, and they have two daughters—Caitie, who lives in Huntsville, Alabama, and Haley, who lives in Athens, Georgia.
